Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Full of cutting edge tech for the time (such as the rear monoshock) the IT465 is revered by many as the best of the IT (International Trial) bikes that Yamaha ever made.

Though Yamaha would eventually made a 490cc version of this bike, many felt that the bigger bore required to make more power wasn’t worth the trade-off of a slightly sluggish start off the line. Even today, the 35 horsepower of the 465 feels snappy and makes plenty of off-idle torque.

Cycle World put it best in its period review: “We’ve had the test IT465 around for three months now, and every time Yamaha calls about picking it up, we find another excuse to keep it a little longer. The bike has proven well suited to use in the mountains, desert and wilds of Baja. The low seat height, excellent waterproofing and super engine make any ride great.”

This example is VIN: 4V6012069. The seller acquired the bike two years ago through an online marketplace.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 50 miles off-road and 10 miles on-road. However, true mileage is unknown.

Maintenance:
The seller states he has changed the oil and replaced the fork seals, the air filter, the sprockets, exhaust seal, and the chain. Additionally, he has given the bike a carb clean and installed new Dunlop D606 tires from 2021.

Modifications:
DC Plastics bodywork.

Aftermarket grips.

The sale includes a set of number plate decals.
