In the late 70s, Honda offered both a CB750F and a CB900F, but per their marketing department the US only got the 750 and Europe only got the 900. Both markets were upset about this because humans always think the grass is greener on the other side. It took a few years, but Honda eventually satisfied the US by bringing the 900F over as well. The press loved it – Cycle magazine called it “one of the best performance buys on the market.”
This example is VIN: JH2SC0102CM101575. The seller is the second owner, and he’s had it for 38 years.
The odometer shows 48,424 miles.
Modifications:
“I restored it the first time with a 900cc engine. Later on I decided to upgrade it and I bought and installed an engine out of a 1983 Honda CB1100F. The engine is a blueprinted 1100 with 1123cc Wiseco pistons, stainless steel valves, undercut gears, upgraded starter clutch, Keihin CR carbs, and an oil cooler with fan. The new motor has less than 2,500 miles on it since the rebuild.”
“Greer quarter fairing. The paint is Candy Tangerine with gold ghost flames. All Honda emblems have been removed from the bike.”
“The bike has an alarm and leather saddlebags installed.”
TEC ignition coils and upgraded spark plug wires.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes one issue, a paint bubble on the right side of the tank.
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. He’s letting it go as he is getting too old to ride. “I just replaced front tire and rebuilt front brake calipers plus did standard maintenance.”
Currently located in San Diego, California, this Honda is offered on a clean California title. Have any CB900F stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
