Please note: VINData incorrectly lists the bike as a 2013.
The 1983 Honda CB1100F was developed as Honda’s top-of-the-line sport bike, positioned above the CB900F and borrowing performance elements from the Europe-only CB1100R. Its powerplant is an air-cooled, DOHC inline-four with four valves per cylinder, enlarged from 901cc in the CB900F to 1062cc through a 70 x 69mm bore and stroke. Compression rose from 8.8:1 to 9.7:1, valve lift was increased, and cam timing was altered, producing a claimed 108 horsepower compared to the CB900F’s 89.

Built for just one year, the Honda CB1100F was a sleek looking standard that evolved from the 900F. In January of ’83, Cycle World said, “The Honda CB1100F is a high-performance match for any 1100, in terms of speed and acceleration and handling and braking ability, and has superior cornering clearance as well.”

Chassis and suspension updates improved stability and handling compared with the CB900F. Rake was increased to 28.5° with 4.7 inches of trail, and the swingarm was upgraded to a box-section steel design with 20 percent greater torsional rigidity. The front suspension used 39mm forks with TRAC anti-dive, adjustable rebound damping, and low-pressure air assist. The bike was equipped with twin-piston calipers front and rear, larger ventilated discs mounted directly to cast-alloy wheels. Despite the larger engine and added equipment, the CB1100F weighed essentially the same as the CB900F at 567 pounds wet.

There were two paint scheme options: Pearl Shell White and Candy Pearl Maui Red with black accents, and Pearl Shell White with Candy Pearl Capiolani Blue with red accents.
