Built for just one year, the Honda CB1100F was a sleek looking standard that evolved from the 900F. In the process, it had tremendous performance – in January of ’83, Cycle World said it was the fastest stock bike they’ve ever tested.

The 4 cylinder engine produced 108 horsepower, good for a top speed of 139 miles per hour. There were two paint scheme options: Candy Pearl Maui Red/Pearl Shell White.

Manufactured in November of 1982, this example is VIN:JH2SC1105DM005317. The seller acquired this as a project nine years ago.

The odometer shows 24,954 miles, however “there is actually only 7,500 miles on the bike since the complete restoration and rebuild.”

This bike came to me as a complete, untitled basket case from a gentleman in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He wasn’t the original owner and never registered or rode the bike. It came to me untitled. A good friend offered me a titled frame, which allowed me to proceed with my restoration plans. Unfortunately, he passed away unexpectedly before I finished the bike and as a result, it became a tribute build to him. I wanted to modify the bike to handle like a modern one, but retain the 80’s look.”

Modifications:
Engine rebuilt with 1123 big bore piston/ring kit.

Hindle stainless steel 4-into-2-into-1 exhaust.

1992 CBR600F2 wheels, front calipers, master cylinder, and forks with Racetech springs installed. Calipers and master cylinder rebuilt and new brake pads installed at time of restoration. Black Galfer stainless steel brake lines. The front fender is from a 1985 VF1000R and mounted with custom CNC hardware.

2012 CBR600RR swingarm and rear caliper installed.

New 2014 CB1100 right and left controls, custom CNC aluminum fuse cover and bladed fuse block, superbike bars.

Euro model rearsets.

Battery was relocated under the seat to accommodate the swingarm shock tower.

Voltage reader and USB charger.

Carburetors completely overhauled by Mike Nixon of The Motorcycle Project. Polished stainless steel dished head bolts were used for the clutch, alternator, sprocket, and left crankcase covers.

The seat was recovered with a period-correct vinyl seat cover.

150mph gauges from an older CB were installed.

Bodywork was completely repainted (House of Kolor Candy Blue) with new decals and clearcoated.

Many parts were powder coated, (by me) including the wheels, frame, calipers, master cylinder, brake rotor centers, engine and engine covers, along with dozens of small parts.”

There are several upgrades that are not pictured:
– New EBC clutch fibers were installed at time of restoration.
Vince and Hyde shift detent star installed for smoother shifting.
– New, custom wiring harness with coil relay mod and turn signal cancel module included.
– Starter clutch rebuilt with Yamaha R6 sprag.
– Honda CBR600F2 coils used for a hotter spark

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller states that there are “no scrapes or chips to speak of.

The rear brake will not lock up the wheel when moving. This is a result of the brake rotor not being a large enough diameter to accommodate the weight of the bike. It was never an issue for me, since the front brakes are excellent.

Inside of the tank:

The sale includes two keys.

The seller sums up this bike by saying, “this is not your ordinary CB1100F Super Sport. It runs and handles like a modern motorcycle and is a ton of fun to ride. The 1123 engine makes lots of power throughout the gears and RPMs. Many of my friends who own stock 1100F’s have ridden this and cannot get over the improvement in handling and performance. The bike is a joy to ride.” Currently located in Worcester, Massachusetts, this Honda is offered on a clean Massachusetts title. Have any CB1100F stories or questions about this listing?
