The original Katana was introduced to America as a 1,000+cc motorcycle, but did you know that Suzuki offered it in a variety of displacements around the world – 250, 400, 550, 600, and 750? Here’s a rare chance to acquire one of the last option, which was introduced in Japan in 1981 and expanded to other markets in 1982. The following year, Suzuki brought out the GSX750S Katana Mark 2 – changes included 16″ front/17″ rear wheels, slightly larger dimensions (though the wheelbase remained the same), and a slight bump in power up to 72 hp.
By 1983, Suzuki had implemented their Anti-Nose Dive Forks (ANDF) on several models.
This example is VIN: GS75X117883, Engine #: GS75X-181341.
The odometer shows 51,380 kilometers (31,926 miles).
This is one of the bikes that we imported from a collection in South Africa. In preparation for the listing, we cleaned and synced the carbs (installing 42.5 jets in the process), lined the tank, and installed a new battery.
During a test ride, Angel noted that the clutch slips at high throttle load, it needs a new clutch lever, the brakes are at 60% front and rear, and the tires are old and should be replaced.
Modifications:
Cowley exhaust.
Tank guard.
Aftermarket rear shocks.
The mirrors have been wrapped in vinyl with the appearance of carbon fiber.
Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
It is riding on Bridgestone tires with date codes of 1211 and 3412.
The sale includes one key.
