Description
Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 1984 Honda CB700SC Nighthawk S.
The Nighthawk S was an interesting bike designed to avoid the 45% tax imposed on imported bikes of 700cc or bigger. Despite the ‘smaller’ engine, this bike was faster than many of its 750cc competitors, and the press loved it. Honda killed this bike after only a couple of years, leaving it to become a cult classic for passionate owners nowadays.
The 696cc inline four engine produced 80 horsepower, good for a top speed of about 120 miles per hour. It’s a little heavier than expected at 516 pounds – and all those pounds were available for a MSRP of $3,398. For more on the Nighthawk S, check out this article from Motorcycle Classics, who call it “An American Hot Rod.”
