Only sold in the states from 84-85, the RZ350 was the first bike in the US to come equipped with catalytic converters and the first Yamaha street bike in the US to use a perimeter frame. It was also one of the last street-legal two-strokes available in this country. US models were specifically marketed as Kenny Roberts replicas with the legendary “speedblock” livery and Kenny’s signature on the front fairing.
Estimated production of these bikes was around 20,000 – accidents and time have worn down that number significantly. You’ll note the YPVS acronym on the engine: that stands for Yamaha Power Valve System, a computer-controlled valve that could adjust exhaust port timing. This enabled increased torque at low RPMs while maintaining horsepower higher up in the rev band.

This example is VIN: JYA48H008EA001368. The seller purchased the bike in 2021 from the original owner in Wisconsin and states, “Perfect two stroke, wish I could keep it.”
During his ownership the seller has covered a few hundred miles. The odometer shows 17,431 miles.

Modifications: “Steel braided brake lines, currently runs on premix but oil pump and new gasket/seal kit for reinstalling included. (new clutch and throttle cables as extras) Zeeltronic programmer installed for custom map modification via included cable for PC connection. Upgraded modern fuse box. Toomey exhaust. LED lights in tail and headlights. Multiple sets of fairings as seen in pics.”

It is riding on Metzeler Roadtec 01 tires with date codes of 0821 and 1521.
The sale includes three keys, service manual, original oil pump with new seal kit, extra fuel tank, original bodywork, custom helmet, and many extra parts. The Garmin navigation unit seen in the photos is not included.
