The successor of the uber-limited HB1, Bimota’s HB2 replicated the formula of Honda engine inside a Bimota frame. This time Bimota used the engine from the CB900F, and produced a much more “reasonable” number of examples – 193 of them.

Per usual, Bimota used high spec parts like Campagnolo wheels, Ceriani forks, and De Carbon shocks to complement the in-house frame. The bike was 441 pounds – a whopping 70 less than the CB900F. One magazine was able to hit 138 miles per hour in a period test and the handling put nearly every other bike to shame. Bike magazine put it simply: “what Bimota have done is made a 900 handle like a 500.”

Bike magazine continued with effusive praise in their review: “There are no mirrors, no indicators, no pillion seat, no luggage space, and only enough room for the pilot if he is prepared to stretch and squeeze his body into the position the machine demands. It is uncompromising, uncomfortable, anti social, and impractical. it is also the most incredible exhilarating and beautiful experience on two wheels other than winning the 500cc World Championship. Compared to that the Bimota is cheap.”

This example is VIN: HB200041. The seller acquired it roughly fifteen years ago from the original owner.

The seller has not ridden it during his ownership. The odometer shows 3,638 kilometers (2,260 miles).
