When it was released, the VF1000R was a bit of a revelation: it was Honda’s flagship, designed to showcase what the Japanese firm was capable of.
It was also a huge tease to US riders, because it was initially only released in Europe only – America got the VF1000F instead, which was designed to be more of a touring bike.
The R was Honda’s first road bike to benefit from gear-driven cams.
This example (VIN: JH2SC1609FM001606) has been with the seller since 2014. It is offered with a clean California title under non-op registration so there are no back fees if the next owner keeps it registered in California.
The odometer shows 47,291 miles.
The seller states that the bike ran a year ago, however the battery is now dead. We got it to turn over with a booster box but we believe that this will likely need a carb rebuild.
It is highly original with the exception of the period-correct Yoshimura exhaust (stock exhaust not included).
This would make a wonderful candidate for a restoration and our White Glove service would be happy to help to whatever degree you choose…from making it run to a full restoration, we’re up for the task!
