When it was released, the VF1000R was a bit of a revelation: it was Honda’s flagship, designed to showcase what the Japanese firm was capable of.

It was also a huge tease to US riders, because it was initially only released in Europe only – America got the VF1000F instead, which was designed to be more of a touring bike.

The R was Honda’s first road bike to benefit from gear-driven cams.

Manufactured in March of 1985, this example is VIN: JH2SC1604FM001884. The seller purchased this example one year ago from a private party in Ohio.

The odometer shows 30,043 miles. The seller has put 300 miles on this example.

Maintenance:
Per the seller: carburetors rebuilt tuned by Twisted Throttle Garage.

Modifications:
Aftermarket rear adjustable air shock.

Not pictured: K&N air filter.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Bridgestone BT46 tires.
