Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 1985 Kawasaki GPz900R.

Produced from 1984 to 2003, the GPz900R was the first bike to bear the “Ninja” name – but not in every country!

A revolutionary design when it came out, some would argue that it was the predecessor of what we consider today to be a modern sport bike. It was the first 16 valve liquid cooled inline four, something the competition would take years to catch up on.

The engine produced 115 horsepower, good for a top speed of 151 miles per hour – it was the first production road bike to top 150. Nowadays these numbers might seem tame, but this bike was an instant legend when it was released.

The cameo in Top Gun didn’t hurt, either.
This example is VIN: JKAZX2A19FB508142. The seller purchased the bike eight years ago from a private party out of Oregon and states, “Found it in excellent condition and bought it. Has been stored in my climate controlled garage and gently ridden for the past 8 years.”

The odometer shows 9,611 miles.

Maintenance:
Per the seller, “Oil change, coolant change, brake fluid and battery. There are no fluid leaks or issues. Bike runs excellent and shifts through all gears smoothly.”
Modifications:
Radiator fan override switch – “This is to manually engage the fan before the auto temperature engagement. It does not disengage the auto fan setting it just allows the rider to turn the fan on earlier if they choose.”

Inside of the tank:
“Tank interior is also completely clean. No rust or discoloration at all.”

It is riding on Kenda RetroActive tires with date codes of 1617 and 4517.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
“Couple minor dings. Bike has original paint, tires are dated but almost new, fuel tank is corrosion and rust free. Excellent/original condition.”
