Description

Click here for an VINData Motorcycle History Report on this 1986 Kawasaki GPz900R. Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

Produced from 1984 to 2003, the GPz900R was the first bike to bear the “Ninja” name – but not in every country!

A revolutionary design when it came out, some would argue that it was the predecessor of what we consider today to be a modern sport bike. It was the first 16 valve liquid cooled inline four, something the competition would take years to catch up on.

The engine produced 115 horsepower, good for a top speed of 151 miles per hour – it was the first production road bike to top 150. Nowadays these numbers might seem tame, but this bike was an instant legend when it was released.

The cameo in Top Gun didn’t hurt, either.

This example is VIN: ZX900A017005. The seller purchased the bike a little over a year ago from a private collection in the UK.

During his ownership the seller has covered approximately 50 miles. The odometer shows 35,494 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller states, “Since I bought the bike, I had the bike stripped down and the frame power coated, and the carbs refurbished.”

Modifications:
Top Gun replica badging and paint.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Bridgestone Battlax tires with date codes of 2212 and 2919.

The sale includes two keys.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
