While the GSX-R750 debuted in 1985 for most countries, the US first got it and the bigger brother 1100 in 1986. The 1100 was bigger and stronger with a 1052cc, four-cylinder, oil-cooled, four-stroke in-line motor housed in a lightweight aluminum frame. This meant the new full fairing icon was capable of 128bhp at 8,500 rpm and 70 ft-lbs at 8,000 rpm. At 434 pounds dry, the 1100 was surprisingly light upon release. It also became the first road bike to have a cartridge fork setup and electronically activated suspension.

As Bennetts found in its review, “On the open road it was astonishing. Fast and torquey like nothing else I’d ridden, but nimble too, feeling like what I imagined a proper race bike would as it flicked from left to right on the smallest of rider inputs.”

Manufactured in April of 1986, this example is VIN: JS1GU74A2G2103329.

During his ownership, the seller has covered 200 miles after bringing it back to life. The odometer shows 15,701 miles.

“Found in a barn in 2019, it sat there since 1991 with a bad coil. I did a mechanical restoration so I could ride it and experience a old slabby. Now its time to move it on to someone to enjoy it or restore it.”
Maintenance:
“OEM Suzuki: valve stem seals, base and head gaskets, multiple o-rings, clutch friction plates, caliper seals.
New chain and sprockets
New Bridgestone BT016s from Italy.

Added Pingel tap.

The seller notes that it needs a “new brake master cylinder, the eBay special has too much travel.”

Modifications:
“Factory Pro all stock jet kit and shift spring..”
It is riding on Bridgestone BT016 tires with date codes of 1122 and 3823.

The sale includes two keys and several pieces of OEM bodywork with original paint.
