While the GSX-R750 debuted in 1985 for most countries, the US first got it and the bigger brother 1100 in 1986.
It was an instant classic – an aluminum box frame housed a 128 horsepower oil-cooled engine, and it looked the part thanks to the full bodywork. The dry weight was 433 pounds, an impressively low number for the time.
The seller of this example (VIN: JS1GU74A9G2103229, Engine #: U703-103697) acquired it just a few months ago on eBay. He’s letting it go as he’s clearing out his collection to pivot to flat tracking.
The odometer shows 17,452 miles.
Modifications:
Zero Gravity windshield.
In the eBay listing the seller bought the bike from, the previous owner noted that it is in perfect running condition and was dyno tuned. He also noted a Euro handlebar as well as a few new OEM parts: coils, leads, plugs, starter, solenoid, chain, sprockets, brake pads, and battery. It also got new Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires.
The seller was told that the bike has “aftermarket suspension” and we note an Ohlins sticker on the left fork, however we’re unable to verify the fork internals at this time. As pointed out in the comments, it has USD forks so they are not from a 1986 GSX-R1100.
12/10/20 Update: with the seller’s permission, we removed the number stickers on the cowl.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this GSX-R is offered on a clean California title with registration current through October 2021.
