While the GSX-R750 debuted in 1985 for most countries, the US first got it and the bigger brother 1100 in 1986.

It was an instant classic – an aluminum box frame housed a 128 horsepower oil-cooled engine, and it looked the part thanks to the full bodywork. The dry weight was 433 pounds, an impressively low number for the time.

This example (VIN: JS1GU74A5G2102739, Engine #: U703-103031) was manufactured in March of 1986. The seller says that “seeing this bike for the first time in 1986 planted in me a love for motorcycles that hasn’t stopped to this day.” He purchased it two years ago “from a collector in Arizona who kept it lovingly in his living room.

The seller has not ridden this bike at all. The odometer shows 3,405 miles.

In preparation for the listing, the seller had us install a new battery, replace the K&N air filters, remove the EVAP system, and rebuild the carbs. During this time we noted that this bike was equipped with the OEM carbs for a GSX-R750.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes that the front fender is not the right color.

Other than that, just a slight patina for a bike of this age.

Inside of the tank:

The sale includes two keys.

Per the seller, “the bike is completely stock with original OEM tires on it.

It also has the original exhaust in excellent condition.

The seller sums up his bike by saying, “These bikes are becoming more difficult to find with such low mileage and in this condition. Unfortunately, I must sell her but I’m sure whoever buys her will truly appreciate the condition, beauty and history of this special motorcycle.”
