Originally made for a decade long stint from 1983 to 1993, the Yamaha Venture was what most sportbike riders at the would call a ‘couch on wheels’. Despite the connotation, the Venture was the Japanese company’s most luxurious motorcycle at the time, offering creature comforts that would make any back-aching motorcycle rider jealous.
The Venture was originally offered in a 1,294 cc V4 engine configuration, a size of engine that was needed for all 800 pounds of motorcycle that made up the Venture. With matching hard luggage, plush seats, highway footboards, and a tall windscreen, the Venture Royale was Yamaha’s answer for riders that felt at home on the long, open road.
