Description

Additional photos of this 1987 Honda CBR1000F Hurricane are available here for your perusal.

The Honda Hurricane, in addition to having one of the better names in motorcycling history, was an excellent motorcycle that introduced some crucial technology into the Honda lineup. It was available in 600cc and 1000cc versions.

The Hurricane had 130 horsepower to motivate 602 pounds of weight, and over time it’s evolved from a heavyweight supersport into a classic sport-tourer. As Rider magazine put it in a Retrospective, “the ergonomics as a whole were fit for a normal human being. Add a pair of throwover saddlebags and a tankbag, and a thousand-mile weekend was a pleasure.”

Suspension duties were handled by Showa, with 41mm front forks and a preload/rebound adjustable shock.

Manufactured in April 1987, this example is VIN: 1HFSC2111HA003780. The seller acquired it two years ago from the owner of a motorcycle service shop.

During his ownership, the seller has covered 400 miles. The odometer shows 12,849 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller had DWS Powersports in San Diego, California perform a radiator flush, new fork seals, and oil change.

Modifications:
Formotion clock and thermometer on the top triple tree.

Corbin seat.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:

The “1000” decal is not present on the left fairing.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Pirelli Angel GT tires with date codes of 0918 and 2618.

The sale includes one key.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Honda is offered on a clean California title with registration current through March 2023.

The seller sums up his bike by saying it “runs great, has smooth power delivery, and it’s most comfortable bike I have ridden.” Have any Hurricane stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
