Honda first introduced its veritable VFR400R with the NC21 generation in 1986. In no time at all, however, the Big Red was ready to make improvements — just a year later, they debuted the NC24, which benefitted from the PRO-ARM single-sided swingarm.

Like its bigger siblings, the welterweight VFR used a competition-derived aluminum twin-spar frame. A four-into-one exhaust exited on the left side of the bike, enabling easy access to the 18” rear wheel, and the suspension’s preload and rebound were both adjustable.

The 399cc V-Four engine produced a claimed 59 horsepower and was notable for the distinctive sound of the gear-driven camshafts. With all of its race-derived tech, the NC24 constantly held its own in 400cc shootouts.

This example is VIN: NC241000606. It came to Iconic as an import from the UK.

The odometer shows 47,833 kilometers (29,722 miles).

In preparation for the listing, the seller had us install a new battery, change the oil and oil filter, and replace the brake fluid, the coolant, the spark plugs, the carb manifolds, the pulse generator, the ignitor, as well as the key. We also serviced the chain, gave the bike a detailing, and installed new Bridgestone Battlax BT46 tires with date codes of 3321 and 0523.
