Honda first introduced its veritable VFR400R with the NC21 generation in 1986. In no time at all, however, the Big Red was ready to make improvements — just a year later, they debuted the NC24, which benefitted from the PRO-ARM single-sided swingarm.
Like its bigger siblings, the welterweight VFR used a competition-derived aluminum twin-spar frame. A four-into-one exhaust exited on the left side of the bike, enabling easy access to the 18” rear wheel, and the suspension’s preload and rebound were both adjustable.
The 399cc V-Four engine produced a claimed 59 horsepower and was notable for the distinctive sound of the gear-driven camshafts. With all of its race-derived tech, the NC24 constantly held its own in 400cc shootouts.
This example is VIN: NC241000606. It came to Iconic as an import from the UK.
The odometer shows 47,833 kilometers (29,722 miles).
