Description

Additional photos of this 1987 Yamaha YSR50 are available here for your perusal.

The Yamaha YSR50 was the most common of the rare 50cc sportbikes that came from Japan in the late 80s and early 90s. An instant classic, the YSR50 was always street legal and always seems to put a smile on the face of riders and spectators.

Built to look like a mini RZ500, the YSR50 also featured mini performance. The 49.3cc two-stroke engine was capable of pushing the bike up to 38 miles per hour, but companies like Team Calamari have been making stock performance numbers useless with years of aftermarket parts and performance modifications if you are so inclined.

Manufactured in January of 1987, this example is VIN: JYA2RR00XHA001306, Engine #: 2RR-001308. The seller acquired it from a private party in Ohio two months ago.

The odometer shows 2,227 miles.

Modifications:
This YSR appears to be completely stock. The original mirrors were pulled off but are included in the sale.

Cosmetic Blemishes:

The sale includes three keys (only one is pictured) and the pictured rear wheel stand.

It is riding on Bridgestone Molas ML17 tires that have aged out.

The seller notes that it runs but the carb float will stay open and leak fuel if the petcock is left on.

Currently located in Bridgehampton, New York, this Yamaha is offered on a clean Ohio title. Have any YSR50 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
