Description
Click here for an CycleVIN Motorcycle History Report on this 1988 Yamaha YSR50. Additional photos are available here for your perusal.
The Yamaha YSR50 was the most common of the rare 50cc sportbikes that came from Japan in the late 80s and early 90s. An instant classic, the YSR50 was always street legal and always seems to put a smile on the face of riders and spectators.
Built to look like a mini RZ500, the YSR50 also featured mini performance. The 49.3cc two-stroke engine was capable of pushing the bike up to 38 miles per hour, but companies like Team Calamari have been making stock performance numbers useless with years of aftermarket parts and performance modifications if you are so inclined.
This YSR50 (VIN: JYA2RRA01JA013347, Engine #: 2RR013347) comes out of the Bob Weaver collection
The odometer shows 4,377 miles.
This YSR looks to be quite stock, though we note that a previous owner has installed aftermarket grips and an aftermarket exhaust.
We also see a crack in the right side of the tail near a mounting bolt, some warping in a sticker on the same side, and wear on the front right. Please take a look at all the photos to verify the condition, and don’t hesitate to let us know if you need additional images of anything specific!
We do not have any history on this motorcycle, however we had the shop give it a once-over to make sure that it runs for the next owner, as seen in the video up top. Whether you want to amuse your neighbors, show off at your next track day with an awesome pit bike, or just put it on display on a coffee table, this delightful mini bike is ready for you.
