Additional photos of this 1989 Honda Transalp are available here for your perusal.

In the late 80s, Honda offered both an AT and a TA – the Africa Twin and the Transalp. Both were ahead of the times, though the latter was more street-biased. Consider it a jack of all trades sort of bike with a cult following. The US only got the Transalp between ’89 and ’91.

The first generation of the Transalp got a liquid cooled V-Twin that produced approximately 50 horsepower and was capable of 110 miles per hour. Wet weight was approximately 450 pounds. Manufactured in November 1988, this example is VIN: JH2PD0608KM202775. The seller acquired it from a private party in Raleigh, North Carolina in the spring of 2021.

Due to health issues, the seller has only been able to ride it less than 100 miles. The odometer shows 26,086 miles.

Modifications:
Crash bars, direct connect wire to trickle charger, and a refinished lower skidplate.

The seller states that there are no cosmetic blemishes or mechanical issues.

The sale includes a Corbin saddle, taller windshield, and service manual (not pictured).

Currently located in Durham, North Carolina, this Honda is offered on a clean North Carolina title with registration current through June 2022.
