Description

Due to licensing laws, Japan saw much more competition in the 400cc sportbike market compared to the US and Europe. Kawasaki’s entry was the popular ZXR400, and compared to the competition it was more of a race replica.

The 398cc four revs up to 14,500 rpm and produces 62 horsepower in the process – somehow enough to get this bike up to 140 miles per hour. It was said to be an excellent performer that just felt a little gutless under 8,000 rpm. For more on the ZXR400, check out this review on Visordown.

This example is VIN: ZX400H004937. The seller purchased the bike in 2024 and states, “I bought it from a retired dealer principal in Japan, it was a bike he traded for when still in business, he always kept the low km and originals for himself.”

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 3 kilometers. The odometer shows 2,300 kilometers (1,429 miles).

Maintenance:
Per the seller, “New tires, carb clean, oil and brake flush, tank lined. It runs amazing.”

Modifications:
Tank pad.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 tires with date codes of 2524 and 2624.

The sale includes one key.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
“On right side, upper fairing is faded a little bit from sitting by a window in storage.”
