The Yamaha YSR50 was the most common of the rare 50cc sportbikes that came from Japan in the late 80s and early 90s. An instant classic, the YSR50 was always street legal and always seems to put a smile on the face of riders and spectators.

Built to look like a mini RZ500, the YSR50 also featured mini performance. The 49.3cc two-stroke engine was capable of pushing the bike up to 38 miles per hour, but companies like Team Calamari have been making stock performance numbers useless with years of aftermarket parts and performance modifications if you are so inclined.

Manufactured in August of 1988, this example is VIN: JYA3FDN07KA006141. The seller acquired the bike seven years ago. He is the second owner.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 50 miles. The odometer shows 886 kilometers (550 miles).

Maintenance:
The seller reports that this YSR50 is the product of a full restoration. He’s included the below list of services performed/parts installed:

– New engine top end
– Carb serviced/new fuel line & filter
– New air filter
– Polished Team Calamari Racing dual stinger exhaust
– Brembo front big brake kit & polished rotor
– New upper & lower aluminum fork clamps
– Aluminum windscreen brace
– NOS OEM ignition
– JDM steel front blinkers
– Restored OEM shock
– New controls
– New chain & sprocket
– Tank & lower fairing repainted
– New decals
– Forks/swingarm/footpegs/Kickstarter/shifter have all been repainted or powdercoated.
– All hardware has been cleaned up

He adds that the “bike is real nice, turnkey. The new engine runs perfectly & tops out at 58mph, which is pretty quick for a YSR50. CA titled in my name & paperwork is current. This is a solid YSR that needs nothing!”

Modifications:
Team Calamari Racing dual stinger exhaust.

Blank OEM YSR tank. Per the seller, “instead of trying to paint up a rusted out tank, I had another perfectly painted clean white tank.”

Brembo brake kit, polished rotor.

Aluminum fairing stay and reservoir cap, aftermarket grips

JDM front turn signals.

Aluminum upper and lower fork clamps.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Dunlop K825 tires.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
Per the seller, there are no cosmetic blemishes of note.
