Honda was ahead of its time when it debuted the Hawk GT, also known as the NT650. It was one of the world’s first modern naked bikes but it was a commercial failure. Over the years, many riders have realized what the Hawk offered, and it’s become a cult classic. Honda advertised the Hawk as “a thoughtful blend of European styling, American V-Twin muscle, and a Honda trademark – technological sophistication.” That makes sense nowadays in a world full of SV650s and Ducati Monsters, but when this bike was released American riders wanted power and they wanted fairings – a 600 Hurricane had 30 more horsepower and all the plastic bodywork one could want for just $400 more than the Hawk’s $3,598 MSRP. For more on the Hawk, check out this article on Canyon Chasers where they call it one of their favorite motorcycles of all time.

This example is VIN: JH2RC3100LM200010. The seller acquired it eight years ago from “a fellow engineer and Hawk enthusiast through word of mouth locally.”

The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. “Basically every consumable on this bike has been recently replaced, or rebuilt. Brake masters rebuilt, rear caliper rebuilt, New swingarm hub bearings, cushdrive, headstock/wheel bearings, chain, sprocket, tires, etc. carbs sonic cleaned, jetted/balanced perfectly. I only run 87 octane ethanol-free gas and let the bike run for at least 5 min before it moves. Complete with logbooks and documentation dating back to the early 1990s. Every owner was an enthusiast. It also comes with enough spares to keep it running forever.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes a “ding on the muffler from my ratchet falling on it and a very minor chip on the original gas tank.”

Currently located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, this Honda is offered on a clean Georgia title. The seller sums up his bike by saying, “It really is a fantastic bike to ride at pace, the chassis geometry is basically perfect for mountain carving. A stock hawk basically feels like a noodle comparatively, and I’ve had quite a few back to back.” Have any Hawk GT stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
