We have sold 15 Honda RC30s in the last 15 months, so we’d like to think we know a thing or two about the legendary model. It also means we don’t take it lightly when we say this is the nicest one we’ve ever seen – yes, even nicer than some 0-mile examples.
This RC30 (VIN: JH2RC3017LM200032) has 632 miles, and it’s been babied in two collections for almost all of its life.
It’s currently on a clean California title in non-op status.
The seller is a friend of ours and he never put his name on the paperwork, just left it on display in his collection. As such, this RC30 is technically a one owner bike as it is still under the original owner’s name. The bike was first titled on March 25th, 1990.
The sale includes two keys, the tool kit, and the factory rear stand which is basically brand new as it’s only been used on a carpeted surface. We also have a copy of a letter dated April 19, 1990 from Honda to RC30 owners that details the proper procedure on how to check the engine oil level on the “exciting Honda RC30”, noting that “a high compression engine of this caliber tends to use a certain amount of oil – more than you be may be accustomed to.”
In addition, we have photos from when the bike was originally sold. At the time, the original owner noted that “this RC30 is a mint condition, museum quality offering with only 632 miles. It is number 32 of approximately 228 bikes imported. It is a one owner bike, garage kept, and meticulously maintained. The bike has not been started in ten years but was prepared for storage at that time. It may need service if the intention is to ride.” The current owner acquired this RC30 in December of 2017, and that statement holds up – the bike has all of .1 more miles on it.
The one flaw we can identify is a crack in the paint on the tail. The RC30 has a fiberglass tail section, and they have been known to crack with any type of stress or a slight bump. Our White Glove department would be glad to get this sorted for you if you’re looking for perfection.
Per the seller, “there are no stories and I know the bike could not have been cared for any better than the life it led.” This is truly one of the cleanest, low-mileage, and near-perfect RC30s we’ve ever seen. With 0 mile bikes repeatedly breaking the six figure mark, this RC30 should make for an excellent investment.
