Description

Additional photos of this 1990 Kawasaki ZXR250 are available here for your perusal.

Kawasaki first introduced the ZXR250 in 1989 as a smaller alternative to the ZXR400. In addition to sporting similar styling to its bigger sibling, the ZXR250 also borrowed plenty of race-ready components. For instance, it boasted an inertial boost system, a cast aluminum frame, adjustable sports suspension, and a 15L fuel tank — all in a motorcycle weighing just 311 lbs dry.

What’s more, the 249cc four-stroke inline-four engine was tuned to the absolute limit of legality. Capable of producing 45hp at 15,000rpm, it could take you from 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds before climbing all the way to a claimed top speed of 127 miles per hour. And here’s the thing: three years later, Japan amended its restriction laws, further restricting the maximum power for a 250cc motorcycle to 40hp.

This example is VIN: ZX250A001421. The seller acquired it in a trade with a close friend.

The seller has owned the bike for less than two years, during which time he has ridden it for approximately 500 miles. The odometer shows 11,081 kilometers (6,885 miles).

Maintenance:
“New fluids except the forks, which don’t leak. The rear brake rotor has scrapes.”

Modifications:
ART Carbon fiber slip-on exhaust.

Re-painted head pipes.

Purple painted tail light.

Aftermarket fairing bolts.

Not pictured: aftermarket fuel petcock.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. The seller reports that the bike is missing both front turn signals. Additionally, there is a dent in the tank.

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on IRC Road Winner RX-01F and Shinko 006 Podium tires that have aged out.

The sale includes three keys.
