Introduced in 1989, the ZXR400 was one of the first motorcycles that would compete in the hotly-contested 400cc market in Japan. The 1990 model was also known as the H2, and it came with minor revisions including a curved radiator and some updates to the swingarm. It was also the last year to feature the iconic dual headlights.
The ’90 model featured an impressive 14,500 rpm redline, near the power peak of 12,500 rpm (where the engine was putting out 61 horsepower). The engine was paired with a six-speed transmission, triple disc brakes, and a dry weight of 359 pounds.

During their ownership, the seller has covered approximately 300 miles. The odometer shows 48,171 kilometers (29,932 miles).

The seller states that they have performed the following services:
“carburetor rebuild, ultrasonic cleaning, front and rear rotors, front and rear brake pads, all drives including sprockets and chain, rebuilt brake, new battery, new Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires, new valve cover, new valve cover gasket, valve adjustment, new air filter, new spark plugs, new fuel filter”
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us clean and sync the carbs, replace the fork seals and oil, replace the valve stems, and replace some mismatched bodywork hardware. Our service department notes the following in their condition report:

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California, this Kawasaki is offered on a clean California title with registration that expired April 2024.
Per the CA DMV website, it would cost $267 to make registration current through April 2025.
