Americans know this bike as the ZX-7, but in international markets Kawasaki sold it as the ZXR750.
The model got a significant update in 1991, which was internally known as the J model. It weighed roughly 10 pounds less than the previous generation and was upgraded with 43mm USD forks.
This example is VIN: ZX750J004023. The seller is the original owner – he purchased it new in Japan and brought it to the US when he moved here.
The odometer shows 7,095 kilometers (4,407 miles).
In preparation for the listing, the seller had Angel flush the fuel system and clean/sync the carbs. Angel noted that the Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier tires are from 2012 and should be changed, and the oil is a little dark.
Modifications:
Normally, the J model ZXRs were restricted to 100 hp, however this example features a Factory Kawasaki Superbike Kit Engine producing 143 horsepower. Modifications include race kit pistons, cams, rods, titanium intake valves, race-spec ignitor, lightweight wiring harness, and a Dyna rev limiter (set to 13k). It’s set up for 97+ octane with a 11:1 compression head gasket but it runs fine on 90. There is no catalytic converter and there are no issues using leaded fuel additives.
KHI full factory race exhaust, nickel plated.
Ohlins remote reservoir rear shock and remote preload adjuster, NWS linear rear shock linkage. The suspension is set for a 180 pound rider.
Brembo cast iron full-floating front rotors and matching pads, Lockheed stainless steel brake lines (front and rear), NWS carbon fiber front fender, Gold Valve cartridge fork kit and springs.
TOBY adjustable steering damper.
Swingarm spools.
Yoshimura digital coolant thermometer (in Celsius).
NWS aluminum fairing stay bracket.
NWS carbon fiber frame guards.
ProGrip tank protector.
Battery tender lead.
Aftermarket tail tidy.
Not pictured is a NWS aluminum fuel tank bracket.

The sale includes one key.
Not included in the auction but available for purchase separately (the auction winner will have first right of refusal) are the race kit non-adjustable steering damper, spare fairings (repainted with OEM decals), original blue front fender, aluminum race fuel tank (all original K1 factory Lime Green paint), race kit installation manual, race kit parts list manual, factory workshop manual, Corbin solo seat, and Zero extended windshield.
