YB8 = the 8th Bimota with a Yamaha engine, in this case a 1000cc EXUP, 20-valve engine which yielded 149 horsepower.

Bimota also made an up-spec version called the model Furano, which had upgrades like fuel injection, a Bimota exhaust, Ohlins suspension, and other goodies that made may have made it the best sports bike money could buy at the time. Just 52 examples were built.
