Portland, Oregon is the home of Breadwinner Cycles, a custom bicycle builder co-founded by Tony Pereira in 2013. Tony also has a passion for motorcycles, and he recently completed a custom Ducati build that has attracted attention all over the internet, including sites like BikeEXIF.

Here’s the story from Tony himself: “Back in 1995 a friend took me to the BMW/Ducati dealership in Canton, Connecticut so he could get some parts for his /5. I’m not sure I had ever even seen a Ducati before in person. The 916 of course was the centerpiece of the showroom and was as gorgeous as well all know it to be, but the humble 900SS called to me. Maybe it just seemed more attainable? I knew that someday I would have one. That finally happened in 2018 when I picked up a 1995 900SS/SP. I rode it for several years doing everything from track days to multi-day tours with my wife on the back. Eventually I got a Multistrada and the 900SS was not getting ridden very often. I decided that I would restore it and make some mods along the way. The modification list grew and grew until I realized that there wouldn’t be much left of the original bike. As a custom bicycle builder I’ve always wanted to build my own motorcycle frame. Once I decided this would be the project to realize that dream I sold my ‘95 and started from scratch. The result is what you see here.

I started with a “neck” (we bicycle builders call it a Head Tube) that had a VIN and came with an unbranded title, and a complete, running, 2004 Multistrada 1000DS that I would use as an engine and electronics donor. I sourced an Ohlins fork and Brembo calipers from an Aprilia RSV Mille R, some forged Marchesini wheels, and a swingarm from a Monster S2R. Once I had those in hand, the direction of the build was set. With inspiration from the “Superstrada” that Championship Cycles built a few years ago, and a long-time admiration for what Walt Seigl does, I set out to build the ultimate version of a mid-90s Supersport. Goal was to get it under 350lbs and to make it a great street and track machine.

I built a frame fixture based on the dimensions that Ducati provides in their official “Manual de Reparatie” and began bending and cutting Chromoly tubes for the main frame in October of 2025. Once I had that in place I built the rear subframe and the front fairing stay from titanium.

Handlebars, footpegs, shift and brake lever, and clutch guard were all made by me out of titanium. Exhaust was one of the last parts of the puzzle, which I fabbed out of titanium. Headers are equal-length 2 into 1, with a NOS Hindle Titanium “silencer.” It sounds amazing!

Bodywork is a mix of reproduction solo seat from Italian Iron Classics, an old SharkSkinz racing nose fairing, and some old Ducati Performance Carbon side fairings. Tank is an original 90s stock steel unit. I decided to nod to the classic Ducati F1 with the Tricolore paint scheme expertly executed by my buddy Kyle Erickson of Smithy Graphics Company.

ECU, dash, switchgear, and harness came out of the donor Multi. Took some time to modify the harness so it fit cleanly into the Supersport package. Used an Antigravity battery to save some weight.

Tail light and front signals are stock parts. LED units were used for the rear turn signals and headlight. Added some modern CNC Racing parts for bling and lightness: clutch basket and QR sprocket carrier. DID 520 chain saved weight from the stock 530. Brake and clutch masters are takeoffs from a late model Panigale. Pressure plate is a “vintage” Speedymoto.

It all came together in mid April of 2026 and I got a few rides in before the big reveal at The One Moto Show here in Portland. I’ve since spent a day with it on the track and it has exceeded all expectations that I had for it. Handling is razor sharp and quick. Engine is strong and smooth, and it sounds and looks amazing! It ended up weighing 349lbs without fuel.”

This example is VIN: ZDM1LC4N8NB002355.

During his ownership, the seller has covered 1,000 miles. The odometer shows 17,932 miles.

“This is a very special bike built to the highest possible standards. It rides arrow straight, and is tight and solid. It rides like a brand new motorcycle.”

Maintenance:
“Belts were replaced and valves were adjusted during the build. Oil was changed. Throttle bodies were ultrasonically cleaned. Injectors were professionally cleaned and tested. Has fresh K&N air filters over stock velocity stacks. Brake pads and rotors are all new. Chain and sprockets are all new.” The seller notes that the “fuel gauges does not work with the type of sender in this style of tank.”
