A year after Suzuki changed the sportbike game with the GSX-R750 in 1985, they rolled out the big brother GSX-R1100. The press and the public ate it up, but that didn’t stop Suzuki from making changes every single year.
The last of the oil-cooled motor in the big Gixxer, the 1992 “N” model was known for its prodigious power (145 hp) and the aggressive “Tiger Stripe” livery. It was a big bike, weighing just under 500 pounds dry, but the suspension had gained multiple levels of adjustability to help – Motorcyclist magazine called it a great choice “for building an Open Superbike or Formula One machine” due to the “fully adjustable fork, easily hot-rodded engine, and strong aftermarket backing.”
This example is VIN: GV73A109297. As a GV73A model, this bike is completely unrestricted according to this thread here.
The odometer shows 55,606 kilometers (34,551 miles). The seller imported the bike five years ago from Japan.
Maintenance:
Per the seller, “Bike was imported from Japan to conduct a full factory/Euro spec restoration. 99% of this bike is NOS. There is zero fluids in the bike aside from suspension fluid because the bike was for a private collection for display purposes only. Before doing the restoration, compression test was conducted and all was in perfect running condition. When I received the bike I rode it for a bit to ensure it was running perfectly and all was in good order with the motor. Everything is to factory specs including bolts, washers, nut etc, the proper color size, weight, thread etc.”
Modifications:
“Tank is NOS. It’s much easier to list what is not NOS such as the speedometer, frame and some of the fairings. All bushings, bearings, rubber, hoses, carburetors, full exhaust system, oil cooler, swing arm, suspension, complete harness, all electrical components aside from computer. The list goes on and on. Also keep in mind this is a non-US spec model. Yes, there are many mechanical and cosmetic differences such as larger carburetors, different computer/ignitor system, color, rear signal lamps length, no reflectors or cotter pins. To be clear if the new owner choose to make this a rider, all that needs to be done is add fluids and enjoy.”
It is riding on Dunlop Roadsmart III tires with date codes of 1320 and 2620.
