Introduced at the end of the 80s, the RGV250 was filled with design cues from Suzuki’s 250cc Gamma Grand Prix racer. When de-restricted, it produced over 60 horsepower to motivate just 282 pounds of dry weight. Visor Down called it “the purest and most race-bred two-stroke track tool ever to make it into a showroom.”

Even 30 years later, it’s still held up well. Per MCN: “ It still looks good, sounds amazing and the smell of burning two-stroke oil will take you right back. Put simply, it’s still sensational.”

The second generation of the RGV (Racing Gamma V-Twin) debuted in 1991 as the VJ22. It featured 41mm upside down forks, 17″ rear wheel, a bump in power to 62 hp (restricted to 45 hp for JDM bikes), and some electronics including Multiple Digital Ignition System (MDIS), Automatic Exhaust Timing Control (AETC), and Suzuki Advanced Power Control (SAPC).

1992 brought different colors and a remote master cylinder for the rear brake.

This example is VIN: VJ22A114963. The seller purchased the bike two years ago from a private party and states, “I picked up as a project and went through every part of the bike restoring or replacing with OEM or better as needed to try and make the bike as close to perfect as possible for a home/amateur build. All photos from build can be provided. Bike looks fantastic and runs great!”

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 20 miles. The odometer shows 7,157 kilometers (4,447 miles).

Maintenance:
Per the seller, “Everything was done by me, except cylinder plating and tire install. ALL receipts for parts are included. Finished restoring the bike and looking for the next project and garage space.”

Modifications:
“Tuning Works Power Valves, Tyga and stock rearsets, Nitron rear shock, Andreani front inserts, stainless bolts.”

It is riding on Dunlop Sportmax Q3+ tires with date codes of 0418 and 2818.

The sale includes three keys and various parts.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
“Scratches on frame (very very minor). Scratches on swingarm from rear stands (minor). Scratches on seat (none through fabric and cosmetic only, minor). Scratches on lower exhaust can (mostly buffed out). Scratches on underside of fairing from transportation (can’t be seen unless you are literally under the bike). Repairs with fiberglass from fix cracks. A few bubbles in decals. Decal transitioning to gas tank doesn’t match the stock color as close as desired. Gas tank may have an ever so slightly different color (but may be an optical illusion dependent on light, matches the spray out coupon and the rest of the bike).”

Currently located in Redondo Beach, California, this Suzuki is offered on a clean California title with registration current through July 2026.
