The Yamaha YSR50 was the most common of the rare 50cc sportbikes that came from Japan in the late 80s and early 90s. An instant classic, the YSR50 was always street legal and always seems to put a smile on the face of riders and spectators.

Built to look like a mini RZ500, the YSR50 also featured mini performance. The 49.3cc two-stroke engine was capable of pushing the bike up to 38 miles per hour, but companies like Team Calamari have been making stock performance numbers useless with years of aftermarket parts and performance modifications if you are so inclined.

Manufcatured in July of 1991, this example is VIN: JYA2RRA04NA058126.

As shown by the below photo, the seller is a YSR enthusiast. He acquired this bike four months ago from a collector in Florida and has covered 1 mile with it.

The odometer shows 3,111 kilometers (1,933 miles).

The engine has been swapped with the larger factory unit from a Canadian-model 1992 Yamaha YSR80 – the YSR80 was not sold in the US. The engine number is 3VU-002134.

The seller rebuilt the bike with the following parts (part numbers included):
Stator side crank seal. 93102-20009-00
Clutch side crank seal. 93103-28100
Clutch push rod seal. 93102-04382-00
Clutch cover gasket. 353-15451-00-00
Yamaha Yamalube crankcase oil. 10w30
New Yuasa battery. 6N4-2A-5
Front brake caliper seal kit. 34x-W0047-00-00

Ultrasonic cleaning of the carburetor.
Carburetor main jet. 127-14143-22-00
Carburetor pilot jet. 260-14142-20-A0
Carburetor needle valve. 3L5-14190-01-00
Carburetor gasket. 4U5-14126-00-00
NGK spark plug. BR8HS
Yamalube 2 stroke injection oil.
Fuel tank sealed with Caswell by previous owner.
Ceramic coating of exhaust pipe.

Cosmetically, he notes “a few scratches and handling marks” as well as a crack in the front fender and the upper fairing.

Mechanically, the seller calls this an “absolutely flawless performing YSR” and notes that “everything functions as it should.”

The sale includes two keys.
