Kawasaki updated their standard ZX-7 sportbike in 1993 with ram-air induction and the upgraded pistons and cams from the previous year’s “R” special. That gave the 1993 “R” a better platform to improve upon, adding trick components like an adjustable swingarm pivot.
Other notable upgrades that riders got to enjoy with the “R” included:
Aluminum gas tank.
Solo tail.
Compression and rebound adjustability in the 41mm front forks.
Remote reservoir shock.
39mm Keihin FCR flat slide carbs.
Close-ratio transmission.
Another change is the supplemental hole in the right side fairing – that’s to adjust the flatslides.
Manufactured in October in 1992, this example is VIN: JKAZXDM10PA000141. The seller acquired it two years ago from a private party in the Bay Area.
During his ownership, the seller has covered less than 100 miles. The odometer shows 13,081 miles.
Maintenance:
“The bike was recommissioned after spending significant time in storage. Work done includes full engine service, rebuilt FCR’s, rebuilt brake calipers and rebuilt shocks.
The bike also received a full cosmetic restoration including paint correction and new decals. The bike was restored to enjoy on the road and rides amazing.”
Modifications:
“Single seat unit is an Airtech aftermarket item on a standard subframe, but has been refinished and painted to a very high standard to match the OE plastics.”
Aftermarket bar ends.
Swingarm spools.
Not pictured is a “programmable fuel enrichment valve. Richens fuel mixture within a specific RPM range and throttle position to eliminate 1st gear flat spot and improve overall throttle response.”
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller states that there are no cosmetic blemishes. “The bike has been cosmetically restored to a high standard.”
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on Dunlop Sportmax GPR-300 tires with date codes of 4321 and 5202.
The sale includes two keys.
