Introduced in 1973, Yamaha’s TZ250 was instantly competitive in club racing and was even able to make a dent at the GP level with a few modifications. Thanks to the aftermarket, it stayed competitive for 3 decades. Built off the race-ready Yamaha TZ250 GP, this example is built completely from ground up from the 250 frame. Made for the AHRMA historic racing championship, the seller built the motorcycle with a FI Kawasaki engine cradled by the original TZ250 frame, dubbing this build a “TZ450”. The motorcycle has modern-day tech wrapped in a retro package, with features such as front and rear Ohlins suspension, custom-order Marchesini ultra light wheels, and even a quickshifter, this old-school racer is anything but.
As for this motorcycle, it holds quite the pedigree of success – the seller won the 2015 AHRMA Sound of Single’s championship on this very bike!
