When Ducati released the 888 SPO in the US, Cycle World magazine called it “a Superbike racer traveling incognito, with a headlight and turn signals included to keep the Department of Transportation happy. It is among the very best sportbikes in the world, regardless of engine type, regardless of country of origin.” Here’s a rare opportunity to get one of the true factory race machines from Ducati Corse built on the 888 platform.
The 888 Corse utilized a 926cc motor producing 140 horsepower.
Multiple sources states that Ducati made just 32 examples of the 888 Corse for the 1994 model year. There were several features unique to the year, such as the design of the airbox, the removable central frame spar, and the color of the rear suspension hoop matching the frame.
As one would expect, the 888 Corse was equipped with top of the line components like carbon fiber Termignoni exhausts, Marchesini wheels, Ohlins suspension (including steering damper), Brembo calipers, and a carbon fiber dash housing Ducati Racing instruments.

There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown. “I know the bike was sent with a freshly built engine and was run at 1 track day.”
This bike was owned and raced by Ferdinando Di Maso in the Italian Championship. There are also mentions of Maso racing a Ducati 888 with #32 in the 1995 season:

“I am selling on behalf of a gentleman that has unfortunately taken ill, his wife has asked me to help with the selling of his collection. The motorcycle was purchased from Ferdinando Di Maso in 2013, imported from Italy to Australia. The owner has owned it since 2013.”
Maintenance:
“We really only have the original proof of purchase receipt, being a race bike no service history was available.
If the bike was to be used I would strongly recommend a service including timing belts were changed, and the tyres would need to be replaced. The rear brake pressure doesn’t feel right and may require brake bleed or a new master cylinder.”
Modifications:
“This bike is a factory 888 Corsa running a 926 engine.”

“The bike is in very good but not showroom condition and has a few marks in the paint as expected. Because the bike had been sat for sometime before we were contacted by the owners family, then some of the engine cases, particularly the magnesium cases has become discoloured.”
