As part of the program, each bike undergoes a comprehensive 90-point inspection, during which time a team of specialized technicians address any areas in need of repair. Within Japan, NAPS Sport Vintage operates a wide network of facilities, offering customers a 1-year warranty upon purchase. Should the buyer have the bike shipped to Iconic Motorbikes, we will complete a post-transport inspection and NAPS will ensure that everything is as represented. However, there will not be an additional warranty once the bike is stateside.

In 1991, Honda split the base and SP models of the NSR250R with the introduction of the SE (Super Edition) model. They had all of the SP goodies (dry clutch, adjustable suspension, special livery) except for the magnesium wheels.
Come 1994, the Japanese firm updated the NSR with an all new model dubbed the MC28. The result was arguably the ultimate 250cc street bike in Japan thanks in no small part to the PGM-IV ignition and Pro-Arm single sided swingarm. Also notable was the memory card used to start the bike.
This example is VIN: MC281003600.
The odometer shows 18,316 kilometers (11,381 miles).
Maintenance:
As part of the NAPS Sport Vintage 90-point inspection, the seller states that following work has been performed:
Removal and Inspection of Exterior Parts
● Temporary Storage of Fairings: We temporarily store the fairings to prevent any scratches.
● Removal of Chambers: The chambers are also removed for inspection.
● Check for Fairing Stay Deformation: We inspect the fairing stays for any bends caused by falls.
● Air Cleaner Box Removal: The air cleaner box is removed to facilitate the removal of the carburetor.
● Classic Bridgestone Battlax BT-72 Tires: The motorcycle currently has nostalgic Bridgestone Battlax BT-72 tires, which will be replaced with the latest model Bridgestone tires upon delivery.
Carburetor Inspection
● Carburetor Removal: The carburetor has been removed, and the insulators were found to be severely cracked, necessitating replacement. Genuine parts are still available, so no worries there.
● Thorough Cleaning: The carburetor is extremely dirty, requiring comprehensive cleaning.
● Disassembly Caution: Disassembling the carburetor can be daunting, but it’s necessary for a proper inspection.
● Sediment in Float Chamber: There is sediment in the float chamber, suggesting potential issues with the fuel tank as well.
● Gasket Replacement: The float chamber gasket will be replaced with a new one. Honda offers a gasket set that includes all necessary carburetor gaskets, and these genuine parts are still available.
● Replacement of Valves and Gaskets: We will also replace the float valve, reed valve, and all gaskets with new ones.
● Comprehensive Cleaning: We will thoroughly disassemble and clean the carburetor.
● Air Cleaner Element Replacement: Although not shown in the images, the air cleaner element will be replaced with a new one.
Steering Stem Inspection
● Bearing Replacement: Although it may not be visibly apparent, the stem bearings and nuts will be replaced as they are not reusable.
● Dust Seal Replacement: The deformed dust seals will also be replaced.
● Importance of Steering: Proper steering is crucial for enjoying the NSR250R’s handling characteristics, so any issues with the stem must be addressed.
Radiator Hose Replacement
● Inspection Area: The radiator hoses, which are not easily visible with the fairings on, need inspection.
● Damage from Falls: There are damages to the radiator hoses from a fall, necessitating their replacement to prevent ruptures under water pressure during riding. Any potential issues are addressed immediately.
Rear Suspension Inspection
● Disassembly and Inspection: The rear wheel, rear suspension, and swingarm are removed for inspection.
● Pro-Arm Feature: The swingarm is the distinctive Pro-Arm type of the MC28 model.
● Component Check: The sprocket and disc rotor remain attached to the swingarm even after removing the wheel.
Bearing, Sprocket, and Rotor Inspection: We inspect the bearings, sprocket, and disc rotor.
● Pivot Area Maintenance: The old, hardened grease in the swingarm pivot is thoroughly cleaned and replaced with new grease.
● Grease Application: We apply new grease generously to both sides.
Fuel Tank Inspection
● Rust Potential: Although the tank doesn’t appear heavily rusted, the dirt and sediment in the carburetor suggest there may be significant hidden rust. We used Wakos Pikatan Z to clean the tank, and a considerable amount of rust was removed.
● Fuel Cock Replacement: The fuel cock assembly will also be replaced. Genuine parts are still available, ensuring reliability.
● Tank Coating: We use Wakos tank liner to coat the inside of the tank, providing future peace of mind.
“This extensive restoration process ensures the NSR250R SE meets high safety and performance standards, offering a reliable and enjoyable riding experience for its next owner.”

Currently located in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan, this Honda is offered on a clean Japanese title. Please note that as an import, this bike lacks certain compliance and emissions stickers that the state of California would require to transfer a title.
