Description

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

The PV50 EPO first arrived back in 1979 as a competitor to Honda’s wildly popular Monkey and Mini Trail offerings. Unlike the little bikes from the Big Red, however, Suzuki’s entry boasted a 50cc two-stroke single. Making some 3.8hp @ 6,000rpm, it was paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.

Elsewhere, the EPO featured a unique “pipeline” frame, a set of telescopic forks with exposed springs, and racks front and rear. The LTD model came fitted with a fancy black and gold paint scheme and some additional guards to protect the front light.

While production of the original PV50 halted in 1981, Suzuki eventually brought the model back for a brief period starting in 1993. Basic specs were consistent, but the bike gained a CDI ignition and some metal pegs. Suzuki updated the model once again in 1995 with a black livery like the 1981 LTD (also introducing a 75th Anniversary Edition) before finally capping the run in 1999.

This example is VIN: NA12A102669, engine #: A143102721. It came to Iconic as an import from Japan.

The odometer shows 1,451 kilometers (901 miles).
