If you have kept up with our listings here at Iconic, you know all about Bimota and their model naming structure – the YB8 is the 8th model Bimota created around a Yamaha motor.
The YB8 was introduced in 1990, featuring the 1,002 cc engine out of a Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP. In the FZR, Yamaha capped output 125 horsepower. Free of restrictions, Bimota was able to get a claimed 149 hp out of the motor. As you’d expect from a Bimota, this is well-equipped with a twin-spar aluminum frame that evolved from the YB4, Yamaha electronics, fully adjustable Paioli suspension, and 320mm Brembo calipers.
In 1993, Bimota introduced an updated version called the YB8 EVO, which got a new livery, a slight bump in power, and other upgrades such as an Ohlins shock. A couple of years ago, Bimota Spirit said that there were just two YB8 Evoluziones in the United States.
This example is VIN: YB800848. The seller imported it two years ago from Japan.
During his ownership, the seller has covered 150 miles. The odometer shows 4,517 kilometers (2,808 miles).
Maintenance:
The seller had the carburetors fully cleaned and serviced, flushed the front and rear brakes, changed the oil, installed a new chain, new air filter, new battery, replaced the front fork fluid, and flushed the coolant.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
Per the seller, “the bike is near perfect condition, no scratches or dings anywhere.”
