Additional photos of this 1996 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7RR are available here for your perusal.

For ’90s Kawasaki fans, the N1 (1996) model of the ZX-7RR is just about as good as it gets. It was the last of several homologation specials based on the ZX-7, and Kawi only made 500 examples.

The base ZX-7 was a lovely bike to ride, but the N1 homologation was truly special thanks to a laundry list of upgrades: adjustable steering head angle (23.5-26.0 degrees), adjustable swingarm pivot, 41mm Keihin flatslide carbs, Nissin brakes (6-piston calipers up front), quick-ratio gearbox, upgraded fully-adjustable suspension front and rear, and a solo seat. Compared to previous homologation Ninja ZX-7s, the N1 had a steel (not aluminum) tank.

Fun story about the 1996 models: they were the first year to get purple wheels. The homologation Ninjas were so popular as privateer racers that Rob Muzzy was finding it too difficult to identify his bikes in a sea of green. His solution? Paint the wheels purple. Apparently Kawasaki liked it enough that they went with purple wheels for the 1996 bikes as well.

This example is VIN: JKAZX750NNA000967.

The seller bought it in June 2020 from Road and Race Classics, a dealership in England. He puchased it with Dutch registration and imported it to the US. “The last owner was a ZX-7 fanatic. He found new old stock gauges (speedo reading MPH instead of KPH) and replaced the originals. The mileage was documented at 14,158 KM (8,797 miles) in 2014 when the gauges were changed. An additional 219 miles were put on by 2016 and 5 miles added by 2017 for a total speedo reading of 224. The speedo currently reads 252 miles which gives this bike a total of 9,049 miles.”

Modifications:
Scorpion exhaust. The stock exhaust is included.

The sale also includes the owner’s manual and a customer service book.

The seller states that there are no known cosmetic blemishes or mechanical issues. During his ownership, he installed a new battery. “It starts and runs great. I only drove it in my driveway but not on the road because it is not registered.”

He is letting it go to make room for an addition to his car collection.

Currently located in Easton, Connecticut, this Kawasaki is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any ZX-7RR stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
