Please Note: the bike is titled as a 2001 RG250. “The last owner who was in ND registered the RGV as an RG250 and as a 2001 model which was the year he applied for registration after he purchased the bike. I have proof of this and when I titled it in SD it was recorded the same way. The VIN and Make are correct however.”
Introduced in 1996, the RGV250 was filled with design cues from Suzuki’s 250cc Gamma Grand Prix racer. When de-restricted, it produced over 60 horsepower to motivate just 282 pounds of dry weight. Visor Down called it “the purest and most race-bred two-stroke track tool ever to make it into a showroom.”

For the 1996 model year, Suzuki debuted the VJ23 generation with an all new engine that featured a 70-degree configuration of the V-twin, just like the factory race bikes. Just 2,218 were built.

All of the VJ23s were based on the high-spec SP model (an upgrade in the previous generation), meaning they received a dry clutch, a close-ratio transmission, a ram air intake, and some larger carbs.
This example is VIN: VJ23A100746. The seller acquired it six years ago from his friend, a private party in North Dakota. “He owned the bike for 20 years and has been a very good friend of mine since way before I bought the RGV and we have both owned several grey market motorcycles.”

During his ownership the seller has covered roughly 4,000 kilometers. The odometer shows 25,610 kilometers (15,913 miles).

“I personally know every owner of this bike and all its history since being imported from nearly new. The first owner and importer lives in TX and he and another well know importer by the name of Steele Campbell originally brought the bike into the US from Tyga Thailand. After each owning it for about 5 total years, it was sold to a hometown friend of mine, Jeff Richards in ND. Jeff and I have bought, sold owned and exchanged several grey market bikes like Aprilia RS250, CBR400R, RG500, NC35, CBR250RR, RZ350, ect. Jeff kept the bike for just under 20 years before selling it to me. He did all the correct mods to the bike which was bone stock when he got it. I have several receipts for almost everything he changed. Additionally he gave me all the factory exhaust, factory rearsets front and passenger, any removed original parts as well as the TX plate from the original owner. I gave Jeff his plate from ND back because it was personalized. Bike has a solid history of ownership and care. I can provide all contact info for every owner and all the OE parts as pictured will go with the bikes sale.”
Maintenance:
“I have only needed to have the calipers rebuilt which was just done last month at a local bike shop. I have a receipt for that.”

“The bike has no known mechanical issues and everything functions as it should.”
Modifications:
“During the previous owner’s care, the bike had a full new SUGAYA exhaust added, full factory up jetting to suit as well as the factory HP derestriction CDI (desirable one which maintains all functions such as oil injector and speedometer.”


“Additionally he installed Nology coils and Battle brand rear sets as well as RGV Steve custom carbon mufflers. The paintwork was completed by Tyga in Thailand and is on factory original OEM bodywork.”


It is riding on Dunlop Sportmax tires from 2001.

“Paint looks overall excellent but does have some crazing in the paint visible under very specific super sunny lighting. It’s very difficult to see or photograph otherwise. The front right blinker stalk has been repaired but is also hard to see in pictures. Obviously it has a few small chips on the wheels that have been touched up as well as a few paint touch ups on the top black fork triple common for a 30 yr old motorcycle. Bike shows very well.”



Currently located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, this Suzuki is offered on a clean South Dakota title.
