2026-05-16 09:50:00 2026-05-16 10:00:00 America/Los_Angeles 1996 Triumph Daytona Super III Vestal, New York - A rare Cosworth tuned sportbike from Triumph’s reborn Hinckley era. https://iconicmotorbikeauctions.com/auction/1996-triumph-daytona-super-iii/ Iconic Motorbike Auctions concierge@iconicmotorbikes.com

The 1996 Triumph Daytona Super III was the final production year for this rare, high-performance “triple” and is considered a flagship of Triumph’s 1990s Hinckley era. Co-developed with Cosworth, only 805 units were ever produced worldwide between 1993 and 1996, with the final 1996 run consisting of just 150 bikes.

With premium features such as adjustable suspension and dual front disc brakes, the Daytona was set-up to allow customization to get a perfect blend of comfort and performance. With a top speed of around 160 mph, the 1996 Triumph Daytona was a top choice for riders who wanted a versatile and powerful motorcycle that could handle long rides and spirited cornering. The seller states that amongst some owners the bike earned the nickname “The Gentleman’s Express”.

Built on the standard Daytona 900 platform, the Super III featured significant internal upgrades by Cosworth to increase power and reduce weight. Approximately 115 horsepower and 66 lb-ft of torque.

This example is VIN: SMT372DDXTJ032228. The seller purchased this motorcycle in March of 2025.

The odometer shows 6,555 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller states: “The following services were performed, and genuine Triumph parts and seals were used for all repairs.”

New Brake Master Cylinders and Calipers-Front & Rear were Rebuilt
Steel-Braided Brake Lines…Pulled & Ultrasonically cleaned
New Chain

New Clutch Master Cylinder, Clutch Slave Cylinder cleaned and rebuilt with Triumph parts and seals
Cooling System Flushed/Cleaned and Refilled
New Spark Plugs
Carburetors Pulled/Ultrasonically cleaned/Rebuilt
Engine Oil and Filter changed (using Castrol 4T-Full Synthetic)

Mechanical Issues:
The seller states: “Nothing! Wonderful running/riding motorcycle. Especially considering the extensive service it just had some 300 miles ago. I rode it just about 200 miles in 2025 with no mechanical issues known.”

Modifications:
The seller states: “The bike is basically all 100% “OEM”/Original Stock condition with the exception of what’s noted below:”

Installed a dark tinted” Lockhart/Phillips-Speedscreen” (I have the original “OEM”/Clear shield…in perfect condition).

Turn Signals were replaced w/new Triumph Super III signals (but they are slightly different…and I have new “OEM” type in boxes).

“TechSpec” Tank Protector/Pad.

Triumph’s Factory-Accessory Theft Alarm System/2-Options (has a British accented man’s voice blaring once the bike is moved).

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Continental Conti-Motion tires with date codes of 1224 and 2524.

The sale includes 2 ignition keys.

Additional Items included with the sale are:
(1) Rubber Fill Strip…that goes between the back of seat and plastic tail piece…when rear seat cowling is not used. (Note: Very hard to find piece.)
(2) Passenger Grab Strap
(3) UK Tax Disc (“Collector Type” item…used only on those bikes “over the pond”.)
(4) Unsure what this is??? Some sort of plate/divider. It’s there…It’s YOURS!
