The Bimota SB6R was an uprated version of the SB6, Bimota’s most popular bike – though for a niche Italian manufacturer, “popular” is a relative term (only 600 units were produced). The SB6R was only produced from 1997-1998, and in many eyes it’s the pinnacle of classic Bimota motorcycles – brutal power from a Japanese engine with the style of an Italian chassis. In typical Italian fashion, you had to pay to play…even back in 1997, this bike would set you back $35,000! The “S” of SB6R tells you that the engine for this bike came from Suzuki. Specifically, it was yanked from the Suzuki GSXR-1100 of the time. With Bimota-developed camshafts, it produced 156 horsepower and could propel the bike to a top speed of 175 miles per hour. It also came with some of the best components available at the time – Paoli suspension, Brembo brakes, and Marchesini wheels and more.
