Ducati offered two versions of the 900SS – a full-fairing (SS/SP) and a half-fairing (SS/CR). In this piece on Cycle World, Peter Egan says that this 900SS is “the used motorcycle you need” and notes that “they made perfectly comfortable long-distance touring bikes, but on winding roads through the Black Hills, they metamorphosed back into sportbikes of deep finesse, with killer, real-world midrange and light, intuitive handling.”
The seller of this example (VIN: ZDM1LC4M8WB026860) acquired it six months ago from a private party in Woodbridge, Virginia.
During that time he’s covered approximately 500 miles. The odometer now shows 5,098 miles.
When he acquired this Ducati, he had his shop service it with a carb rebuild, oil/filter change, brake fluid flush, and several new parts: air filter, lithium battery, spark plugs, pulse generator, chain, and tires. The seller states that this needs nothing but a new owner.
Modifications:
Penske shock with Eibach spring.
Carbon fiber rear fender and MSR carbon fiber dual exhaust.
Carbon fiber triple cover and dash cover.
Carbon fiber clutch cover and belt covers.
The seller notes that the only cosmetic issues are some small chips in the front fairing, “pretty standard for a 23 year old bike.”
Currently located in Chantilly, Virginia, this 900SS/CR is offered with a clean Virginia title.
