The seller provided a detailed walk-around video:

Introduced in 1994, the Road King quickly became one of Harley-Davidson’s most successful touring models by blending the comfort of the Electra Glide with a cleaner, more traditional look. The 1998 model marked the final year of the Evolution-powered Road King before Harley ushered in the Twin Cam era, making it the last chapter of an engine that had earned a reputation for reliability while retaining the unmistakable character of the company’s classic 45-degree V-twin.

Power came from the 1,340cc Evolution V-twin, now equipped with electronic fuel injection as standard. A new nine plate clutch reduced lever effort, while the broad torque curve made the Road King feel relaxed and effortless on everything from city streets to long stretches of highway. Triple disc brakes provided the stopping power, and rubber engine mounts kept vibration in check once underway without sacrificing the signature Harley feel.

Designed to be equally at home crossing state lines or cruising Main Street, the Road King paired a detachable windshield, saddlebags, generous ergonomics, and a low center of gravity into a remarkably versatile package. Cycle World praised its combination of style, comfort, and usability, concluding that the Road King was “a sophisticated, stylish and surprisingly versatile motorcycle”.

This example is VIN: 1HD1FRR36WY603404. The seller acquired it from Barger Harley-Davidson in Canoga Park in 2012, “The original owner had traded it in on a new machine. It was immaculate then. It still is today. The paint, chrome, etc. is still all factory original and looks showroom fresh. This is the last Evo and has all the best attributes of that iconic motor series, and before the troublesome Twin Cam replaced it. Ready to ride to Sturgis!

Engine Number: FRRW603404.

During their ownership, the seller has covered aproximately 15,000 miles. The odometer shows 72,732 miles.

Maintenance:
Aside from oil and filter changes, and batteries, the only thing I’ve had to change was the fuel pump and filter, and fitted braided stainless steel fuel lines. This was just last year.

Mechanical Issues:
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues.

Modifications:
The seller states: “I kept the bike almost 100% stock. I added an AMCO tour box, which I’ve owned for over 40 years and has been on several of my bikes. Big enough to hold two helmets and lots of other stuff. Also has a matched set of Formotion matching thermometer and clock on the windshield crossbar. Has a Harley-Davidson Security System built in but I’ve never used it.”

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Dunlop tires that have aged out.

The sale includes 2 ignition keys and the original owners manual.

Cosmetic Blemishes: The seller states: “There is a bump on the front fender which was there when I bought it. It’s been touched up and hard to see. Otherwise the paint finish and chrome are like showroom condition.” Please see the album in the “Photos” tab for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:

Currently located in Canoga Park, California, this Harley-Davidson is offered on a clean California title, with registration status believed to be on Planned Non Operation. The estimated cost to bring the registration current through July 2027 is $161.
