Designed for the 75th anniversary of the MG factory, the Moto Guzzi Centauro was a limited production model designed as a sporty variant of the classic Italian cruiser with very distinctive bodywork – bodywork that the factory advertised as being 100% recyclable.

It might be apropos to call it an Italian V-Max, but the Yamaha puts out a bit more oomph. The 992cc twin in the Centauro was good for 95 horsepower and a top speed of 130 miles per hour.

Some people didn’t care for the ergonomics, but no one could argue with the components – WP suspension front and rear, Brembo brakes, and Marchesini wheels. Want to learn more? Head over to the Centauro Owners Group (COG) for all the information you could want. According to the COG, just 1,918 Centauros were ever built.

The seller of this example (VIN: ZGUKKAKK4WM112662) is the second owner. He acquired it four years ago on eBay from the original owner, a private party in Columbus, Ohio.

During that time, he’s covered approximately 700 miles. The odometer shows 9,290 miles.

This was originally a Centauro Sport (nose fairing + belly pan). The original owner pulled off these body pieces (as well as the catalytic converter and oil cooler bezel) when he bought the bike new, however they are included in the sale and are said to be in “perfect condition.”

The catalytic converter was replaced with a crossover pipe.

The sale includes several extras: 2 extra seats, new-in-packaging Hepco & Becker 40 liter hard bags with mounting hardware/rear rack/inner bags, spare parts, owner’s manual, service manual, and parts manual.

It also includes the original tool kit.

Two years ago it got a general inspection, fluid flush, tune up, brake pads, and Michelin tires. “I changed all the fluids and internal oil filter myself a year ago.

He adds that this bike is “always garaged and sparkling clean“, the only issue appears to be some minor paint flaking on the brake master cylinder.

Currently located in Williamsburg, Virginia, this Centauro is offered on a clean Virginia title.
