Replacing the legendary 916, the 996 was Ducati’s flagship superbike from 1999-2002. The gorgeous Tamburini-designed aesthetics remained, but upgrades like larger pistons and valves, a stronger crankshaft, lighter wheels, and better brakes all combined for an improved riding experience.

Manufactured in February of 1999, this example is VIN: ZDM1SB5T7XB002778. The seller acquired it six months ago out of an extensive Ducati collection in the Midwest. He is letting it go “to fund my two stroke addiction.”

The odometer shows 2,939 miles.

Maintenance:
Flush and fill of brake and clutch system. New MotoBatt battery. Fuel system flushed with non-ethanol fuel with K100 fuel stabilizer. Rebuilt rear master cylinder. Oil and coolant change. Belts inspected by the dealer. In excellent shape but 18 months old.”

There are no known mechanical issues, however the seller suggests “new tires as they are out of date and a belt service.”

Modifications:
Yoyodyne clutch slave cylinder.

Battery tender lead.

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes “One small imperfection on right tail. Two marks on right mirror.”
