The 1999 Ducati 996 (Biposto) is a legendary sportbike featuring a 996cc liquid-cooled 90° V-twin Desmoquattro engine, producing 112 hp at 8,500 rpm and 93 Nm (68.6 lb-ft) of torque at 8,000 rpm. It utilized a steel trellis frame, Brembo brakes, and featured iconic, refined 916-style styling with improved, larger airboxes.

Replacing the legendary 916, the 996 was Ducati’s flagship superbike from 1999-2002. The gorgeous Tamburini-designed aesthetics remained, but upgrades like larger pistons and valves, a stronger crankshaft, lighter wheels, and better brakes all combined for an improved riding experience.

The 1999 model was praised for its superior handling and engine performance compared to its 916 predecessor, utilizing twin fuel injectors and a revised airbox for improved power delivery.

Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us perform a safety inspection, a new battery was installed. Engine Oil/Filter were replaced (15w50 Motorex Top Speed full synthetic). The brakes were flushed, filled and bled. The cooling system was flushed, filled, and bled. The chain was cleaned, lubed and adjusted. Replaced upper and lower chain guards. Replaced sparkplugs (DCPR9E). Removed and Replaced belts. Properly timed and tensioned to specification. Removed and replaced air filter. Removed Fuel Pump Assembly. Replaced Fuel Pump, Gaskets, and Hoses. Reassembled and Pressure Tested to verify repair. Replaced Ducati fuel filter, o-rings and gaskets. Fuel Injectors cleaned and reinstalled.
