Description

Additional photos of this Cagiva Mito are available here for your perusal.

Introduced in 1989, the Cagiva Mito (Italian for “myth”) was built to replace the Freccia 125. The original model featured dual circular headlights and for four years it was the best-selling motorcycle in Italy.

In 1994, Cagiva updated the model (now called the Mito Evolution) with a redesign that shared several features with another in-house product at the time – the iconic Ducati 916.

1999 brought a further update called the Evolution II – this primarily differed in the transmission (6 speeds versus the previous models’ 7) and wheels (six spokes versus three). The 125cc 2-stroke engine put out just shy of 30 horsepower when derestricted, and despite the diminuitive size this bike featured big-bike components like Brembo brakes, USD Marzocchi forks, steering damper, an asymmetrical alloy swingarm, and aluminum frame. Impressively, the dry weight was just 276 pounds.

This example is VIN: ZCG8P00ABYV0Q3097. The seller acquired it six months ago from a dealership/consignment shop and is letting it go to fund some home repairs.

During his ownership, the seller has covered roughly 20 miles. The odometer shows 650 kilometers (403 miles).

Maintenance:
Last month the bike had a full service including checking of all fluids, carb clean, and Shorai lithium battery installation. Bike starts and runs perfectly.

Modifications:
Per the seller, this bike is “100% stock, as it left the factory.”

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller states that there are no cosmetic blemishes.

It is riding on the original Michelin Hi-Sport tires.

The bike includes the original Cagiva Factory racing kit that is still in the original box. The kit includes de-restricted intake, larger carburetor jets, rear sprocket and chain.

Also included is the owner’s manual original toolkit and spare key.”

The seller sums up his bike by saying, “it’s VERY unlikely another example in this condition exists in the US, let alone the world.” Currently located in Santa Cruz, California, this Cagiva is offered on a clean Washington title.
