Ducati’s Monster first arrived on the scene in 1993 as the M900. It was famously a parts-bin special, incorporating the frame from the 888 as well as the air-cooled SOHC engine from the 900SS. Even still, the naked styling was a hit with customers. In fact, the Monster was so popular that it accounted for 42% of Ducati’s sales between 1993 and 2000.

And here’s the thing — the model was more than a mere design exercise. On the road, the Monster produced some 67hp and 60lb-ft of torque — more than enough grunt to move its 407-pound heft. Around the bike, you also got top-spec parts such as Brembo brakes, Öhlins suspension, and even a dry clutch.

The features didn’t end there, and neither did the exclusive models. For 2001, Ducati offered the Monster in the “S i.e.” package, an up-spec option that incorporated much of what made the previous years such a hit, while building off the iconic foundation Ducati had created themselves.

This example is VIN: ZDM1RA4N1YB000776. The seller has owned the bike 10 years.

During his ownership the seller has covered approximately 9,000 miles. The odometer shows 10,225 miles.

Maintenance:
The seller states, “I am a Ducati master technician and have done all service myself with factory special tools. Full valve service and new belts every 2,500 miles, oil service every 1,000 miles, fresh starter and sprag clutch.” The seller also performed a full engine rehabilitation for performance and reliability based off a super sport spec engine blueprint. “Weight matched pistons/rods to perfectly balance to crankshaft, matched big end bearings to suit the service manual specs, a perfectly shimmed crankshaft and transmission, and the “squish” set with custom thickness head gaskets to get the best compression values as well as manual cam timing to get the timing set perfect to the book values. Simply put, it sets the engine up for the best possible performance without using aftermarket parts. All factory Ducati parts and specs. This was done with about 5000 miles on engine.”
